Machakos County ’s People’s Park was the place to be in mid-December 2019 as it played host during the launch of the Machakos Tourism circuit. The Guest of honour was the Machakos Deputy Governor Jeremiah Munguti. Kitengela
Biznet covered the function. During the launch, the county ’s top leaders urged Kenyans from across the counties to embrace local tourism by visiting famous Tourist sites of the County. The Deputy Governor asked for close collaboration to improve the tourism sector between the public and private sector. In his address, he pledged the County Government’s full support in ensuring that the health sector was well taken care off.
He also pledged to allocate more resources to the Ministry of Roads to improve access to all parts of the County. The County ’s Chief Executive Committee in charge of Tourism Ruth Mutua fronted Machakos as a great destination for people from across the board.
On his part, the Chief Officer in the department, Victor Muniafu who spoke during the launch urged Kenyans to visit and enjoy the site and sounds of Machakos County.
Victor Muniafu: “I urge all Kenyans from across the Board to visit the various great attractions in this County and be able to enjoy the countryside at an affordable option”. Ruth Mutua: “Machakos County boasts of a modern stadium, outstanding security, a modern Hospital and more so great hotels spread throughout the County”.
