Thirty-one students were rushed to Magadi Hospital in Kajiado county after three roofs of classes were blown off on Monday evening.
Most of the injured students are in Forms 3 and 4, who suffered head cuts from flying iron sheets that were torn off from the classroom roofs by the powerful evening winds.
Kajiado county TSC director Solomon Leseewa said on Tuesday that 24 students were treated and discharged on Monday night, while 7 were admitted with serious cut wounds at Magadi hospital.
Leseewa said the winds blew off part of the Form 2 class, the administration block, and Form 3 and 4 blocks at Oldonyonyokie Girls’ Secondary school. He said out of the seven who suffered cuts, two of them suffered broken limps, but are in stable condition.
